1945 Press Photo view of Mt. Fujiyama from a U.S. plane on the way to Tokyo
This is an original press photo. We go to the mountain. Tokyo -- There are more important things than scenery on the "Tokyo Run" these days but the Japanese "sacred" mountain, Fujiyama, is a symbol to American pilots carrying on the devastation of the enemy capital. This photo of the mountain was taken from one of Admiral Mitcher's carrier based planes on its way to Tokyo, and radioed to San Francisco from Guam by U.S. Navy radio-telephoto. Photo measures 8 x 6 inches. Photo is dated 02-26-1945.
    Part Number: lrm00337
Please look at the images below carefully to determine the condition of this vintage photograph, as it may not be in perfect condition. It may contain wrinkles, cracks, and possibly even tears due to its age and how it was handled before it got to us.  A scanner may see a photograph differently than human eyes will, so it is possible that the actual photograph may be slightly darker or lighter in person.
