Two of the front base wood corners are loose. There are areas of cracks in the wood as pictured. The glass case at one point appears to have been attached to the base with hinges & had a key lock which is not present.

Late 1800's - Early 1900's Weather Barometer in Wood & Glass Case.
I have never tried to use or repair this item, it was used as a decor display piece. This item would date to 1890 at oldest when Green moved his company to Brooklyn, NY.
