    Description

This C. 1900 French barometer has lovely inlaid wood decoration.  Both thermometer and barometer appear to be working.  The shield shape has lovely inlaid bell flowers, highlighted by small circles of mother of pearl.
Case appears to be solid mahogany with fruitwood marquetry.  Thermometer is in degrees centigrade.  Barometer is labelled in French ("Tempete / Grand Pluie  / Pluie ou Vent / Variable / Beau Temps / Beau Fixe / Tres Sec").  This translates as "Storm / Heavy Rain / Rain or Wind / Variable / Nice Weather / Very Nice Weather / Very Dry).
There is a makers mark on the back panel as shown in the last photo.  I do not know manufacturer's name -- if you do, please contact me so I may update the listing.
    Dimensions:
    Total: 20" Tall x 9" Wide x 2" Deep
    Thermometer: 5.5" x 1.125"
    Barometer diameter: 5"
Only notable condition issue is a missing MOP circle.  Wood is in good condition commiserate with age and use.  No unusual finish issues.

I try to list EVERY flaw which would be commented on something in an antique or vintage condition – this does not mean all imperfections resulting from normal wear & use require comment. My goal is to have no rude surprises upon receipt.
